This is Yoda a 3-year-old LaPerm that I own. This story is about her breed.
In 1982 Linda Koehl of Dalles Oregon produced a litter of kittens that had one that looked a little different than the rest. She was completely bald with tabby markings on her skin and looked like a little alien. Her ears were so big and far apart from each other. As her fur began to grow, she started to look weirder: her coat was curly. They named her curly. Curly had babies with different male cats around her home one of them included a Siamese and a Manx. All her kitties were born with curly hair. This was the result of a dominant mutation. So these cats were given a breed status called LaPerm. The LaPerm cat achieved recognition from the International Cat Association in 2002 also by the Cat Fanciers Association.
LaPerm cats are small they average between 5-8 pounds and are fully grown by the age of
three. The LaPerm has a funny personality they are known to make lots of mischief. They are also known for using their paws to open doors, swipe at things and tap you on the shoulder when they want something.
The LaPerm coat is very easy to maintain it doesn’t not tangle also you can put some water on your hands and fluff to reset the curls. The coat only sheds a little bit. Also, they are very picky with the litter box. LaPerm’s are very loyal and attached for their owners, very stuck up as well.
LaPerm cats range from 300-600 dollars. LaPerm’s have beautiful almond shaped eyes. They also love to hunt for mice. Owning one of these cats can really bring joy to your life. They are very fun to have around, and they love affection, and they love water. If you open your closet door to grab a towel and take a shower, they come running to join you. Bottom line if your thinking of getting one of these cats you will not be disappointed.
