Former Drug addicted devil worshiper Eli Contreras is a rarity, a 49-year-old man who now lives a remarkable life evangelizing worldwide his ministry is called Through living ministries. Born in Antioch, California, he grew up in Oakley in an abusive home and never felt like he belonged anywhere. His father was never there for him like he needed him to be he abused him sexually physically and mentally. At the age of 13, he left and became addicted to drugs. By 15, he was in San Francisco selling using drugs and living a homosexual life. Due to so many unanswered prayers, he lost faith in God and became a devil worshiper. His life became so out of control that he almost committed suicide. He moved by his mother’s house and used to walk the streets. One day he was walking in the street, waiting for a car to hit him, and a lady friend of his mother, Miriam Sobalvarro, pulled up to him and asked to pray for him. She would pull up to Elis’s mom’s house, asking about him, saying God sent her to pray for him. On that day, she prayed for him and changed his life. He is a changed man and goes around the world telling his story.
In Contra Costa County alone in 2021, there were 71,314 drug users. In 2020 in Contra Costa County there were 144 deaths related to drug use. Among the many drug-addicted devil worshipers, a wild success story like Eli’s rarely comes about. He has beaten the odds of addiction and abuse as a child.
His mom and his sister are very proud of him. He now has his ministry, where he evangelizes all around the world. You can catch him in Modesto on Mondays at 5 pm on the corner of I st and 9th with a group of people who also have changed their lives, holding up signs to honk for Jesus and telling their testimonies on the microphone.
